Installation ShippingLandscape

XTH-Berlin: Uwe Rieger in collaboration with Scape: Duncan Lewis, Bordeaux

The model ShippingLandscape is a haptic-digital installation. Digital information is projected on multiple layers of steal gauze. This translucent surface allows the creation of 3 dimensional  light-constructions . The simulation shows the adaptation of the system to changing landscape and climatic conditions

Architecture: ShippingLandscape

The barge-based floating network of ShippingLandscapes creates hybrid volumes between landscape and architecture. The modular system breaks into shippable parts, while maintaining functional autonomy and allowing the system to react to environmental micro-conditions. In seawater and tidal areas  the swimming barges are transformed into water storage tanks to run the internal irrigation system, creating artificial islands along the coast line.
